Chibbi is a Mexican-born, Texas bred poet, actor, and makeup artist. He started performing poetry in 2006 while attending the University of Texas at Austin, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance in 2009. After returning to his hometown, he founded the city’s only regularly occurring spoken word competition, Laredo BorderSlam. In Houston, he was one of the founding members of Write About Now and was on their inaugural National team. He now lives in San Antonio with his husband and two fur babies, and is an active participant in the local poetry community. He was the 2017 San Antonio PuroSlam Champion, and lead the team to a 3rd place victory at the National Poetry Slam Group Piece Competition.
