I was trained as a mathematician, but I became a high school mathematics teacher. I teach in a math, science, and technology magnet school outside Atlanta, Georgia. My interest is in mathematics curriculum for gifted high school students, which motivated the production of my calculus textbooks. When I'm not teaching, writing, thinking, or learning mathematics, I can be found reading comic books, watching Doctor Who, spending time with my wife, and enjoying music of all kinds (but my favorites are the Beatles, Ray Charles, King Crimson, and Yes).
