Jose Gamboa is a published author and illustrator who has been devouring comics all his life. While working as a reading teacher for children with learning difficulties, he researched, wrote, illustrated, and published his first comic biography, Laban! A Love Story, on how Cory and Ninoy’s love story restored democracy to the Philippines. This is an experiment to see whether or not his love of drawing, comics, and telling stories can not only sustain him, but help him reach his dreams of surfing and traveling the world, becoming an animator, and answering "yes" to the questions "Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter?"
