Damon Jared Freed

Damon Jared Freed began his art studies at State Fair Community College then received his B.F.A from the School of Visual Arts, New York City with honors. His M.F.A. is from Hunter College, City University of New York. He taught Drawing I, II, III, Design I, and Color and Design, at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg for ten years, and he taught Painting I and II, Design I and II, and Art Appreciation tandemly at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri for ten years. Damon has been represented by galleries in New York City, Saint Louis, and Kansas City. His most recent solo exhibitions include ‘Four Point Perspective at The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Sedalia, 2014,’ ‘Cadence at Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art in Kansas City, 2012,’ ‘Obstacle and Void at the Bruno David Gallery in Saint Louis, 2023,’ ‘The Inner Chapters at the Bruno David Gallery in Saint Louis, 2024,’ and ‘The Inspirations: Hang Them All!’ at the P.E.O. Foundation Art Gallery in, 2024. His poetry has been published online by ‘The Rye Whiskey Review, 2021’ and at ‘The Writer’s Place’ in Kansas City. He was included in the audio book projects by James Benger of the Writer’s Place, ‘Voices from the Writer’s Place Vol. 1, and Vol. 2 from 2021 and 2022.’ He has performed live for the Poet Laurette of Belle, Missouri, John Dorsey, in 2023. And, with James Bryant of ‘SpoFest Poetry and Prose,’ in Sedalia, Missouri, both live and online, since 2015.
