Dana Shahar Meyer is a multilingual, multicultural poet and writer, though her primary identity is as an Israeli-American. She is a 5th grade teacher and happy wife to a fellow teacher. Meyer has been writing poetry since the age of five, and has been using a spoken word (“slam”) format to speak her truth for the past nine years. She hopes to inspire others to embrace both the dark and the light in themselves and in their world through slam poetry. On any given day you can find Dana exploring a new trail with her dog, inventing a new recipe in her kitchenette, tending to her veggie & herb gardens, or curled up with a good book.
