David is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Old Ruymians’ Club, a licensed class 1 radio amateur and attended Chatham House Grammar School from 1967 to 1973. David’s career began as a Radiographer on leaving school and has had a varied career in pharmaceutical research; purchasing electronics for the Rank Organisation and GEC; the design and manufacturing of domestic electrical appliances and finally retired from his position as Head of User Technology in Higher Education in 2012. David has always engaged with his local community; as Chairman of Eastry Parish Council and later as a Member of Ramsgate Town Council. Throughout his life David has been interested in photography, starting with his mother’s 127 camera aged 8 and, following retirement, took up professional sports photography; becoming accredited and published in several magazines.
