About
Douglas Wilson
South African performance poet Douglas Graham Wilson published his first collection of poetry, Space of Time, in 2006 and is currently working on his second collection. His poetry is esoteric, romantic and sensory and he's inspired by life and society, as well as by perceptions and thoughts about existence and metaphysical themes. Since 1997 he's produced and performed in many solo shows and has also collaborated with other artists. He believes in performing poetry to make it more accessible to the public, thereby breaking down stigmas about poetry being inaccessible or too intellectual. Wilson's poetry is visual and reasonably easy to grasp - he tells stories in a fresh, cosmopolitan style easily open to interpretation. More recently, he's devoted time to working on collections of his poetry for publication rather than performing. In addition, Wilson has been working as a freelance copywriter and conceptual consultant for over a decade.
