Voices To The Clouds, Birds Butterflies Climate has been published - after 16 years in the making - by Altivolantis on the Kingdom of the Shore whose mantra states "To represent familiar objects as to awaken in the minds of others a kindred feeling concerning them". The website Art May Be Red But Does It Fly .me.uk explores the author's photographic vision with an emphasis on the land and the sky far less about population and more about solace and silence both of which are difficult to find, let alone to quantify. Guided by a grounding in film based photography and home darkroom circa 1975-2000 the author/artist has found new meaning in his interpretation of imposing monochromes. These are much more than simply converting digital colour into digital grey-scale but redefine the levels of light and shade into a more liquid vista. The power to be different and to step away from the maelstrom of modern life is born of the very sigh that silence heaves.
