Erika Hammerschmidt was born in Minnesota and graduated from Augsburg College with two language majors and an art minor. She was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 11, and has written Born on the Wrong Planet, a memoir about her childhood. She currently lives in California, and has written a science fiction series, three short story collections, and a webcomic, as well as making jewelry and other crafts.
