Farhad Omar is a writer, educator, cybersecurity professional and community organiser based in Perth, Western Australia. Born and raised in Singapore, he studied Islamic Economics at the International Islamic University Malaysia before completing postgraduate studies in information systems and cybersecurity. His writing explores the relationship between faith, education, technology, economics and community responsibility. His books include The AGI Era: Making Machines Work for Everyone and We Needed a Place: The Story of Alhidayah Centre. He also develops educational programmes and resources through the Sayyidina Omar Institute, with a particular focus on youth formation, Islamic education and the preparation of murabbis. Farhad writes from lived experience, asking how knowledge can be translated into service and how communities can respond responsibly to technological and social change. His work is guided by the Islamic understanding of amanah: that knowledge, influence and capability are trusts for which we remain accountable.
