Charles Wendell Boatright is an author who was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. Charles received a degree in Civil Engineering from ICS in Pennsylvania and worked as a transmission line engineer for 33 years in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. One of his responsibilities was writing procedures for transmission line work. One procedure called "Short Haul" allowed linemen in special harnesses to work suspended beneath a helicopter to performed energized transmission line work. This has been featured on the Discovery Channel. He used this skill as a technical writer to write short stories and his recent book about the golf swing, "The ESPY Golf Swing Coach." Charles became an avid golfer in his mid-thirties, and in 2007 after hip surgery, concentrated his efforts to take greater advantage of the body's natural mechanics based on the baseball-type swing and sprockets on a ten-speed bicycle to create power, speed and distance. Charles was able to reduce his handicap to single digits.
