Fred Whissel is an author, photographer, artist, woodworker, ham radio operator, and...retired. The author of eight books (lulu and amazon), he and his wonderful wife (Barbara) now live near Driggs, Idaho, having spent 31 years in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming, raising two sons and a daughter. Fred’s semi-autobiography, all-humor "In Light of Fires and Foggy Mornings: Stories From a Small Town in the 1950s That Are Absolutely, Positively True. Sort of." has brought loads of laughs to readers since 2007. He is currently working on a “Foggy Mornings” sequel (and more than THIRTY other books). A Vietnam-era Army Security Agency veteran, he spent more than a year in Africa with the U.S. Army Security Agency (Ethiopia), where he served as editor of the post weekly newspaper for 2,500 military and civilian citizens. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Professional Photographers Association, and numerous other organizations.
