Jamel Hawkins is an author, creator, and founder of the New Beansland Institute. His work begins with questions—especially the ones people are often told have already been answered. Through books including The Doctor/Rocketship Test, People Zoo, and Before Chapter One, Hawkins explores evidence, authority, belief, freedom, responsibility, consciousness, institutions, and the categories we use to understand the world. His work moves between philosophy, social observation, personal reflection, and creative worldbuilding without asking readers to simply agree with him. The goal is to examine the claim, test the reasoning, notice the category being used, and keep asking questions.
