A native of New York, David Tortorano now lives in Gulf Breeze, Fla., and is owner of Tortorano Commissioned Publications and a co-founder of the Gulf Coast Reporters' League. He is an award-winning journalist who worked at newspapers in Alabama, California, Florida and Mississippi between 1973 and 2006. He was on the team at the Sun Herald in Biloxi-Gulfport, Miss., that won the 2005 Pulitzer for Public Service for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
