About
Glenda Norwood Petz
I am a native south Floridian, born and raised in Pahokee, which sits on the banks of Lake Okeechobee. In my lifetime, I have been through numerous hurricanes and have seen their destruction up close and personal. In 2009, my husband and I left Florida for the Midwest, settling down in Clarksville, Indiana. All of my life, I had wanted to have a white Christmas, see the beautiful colors of the change of seasons, and experience all four seasons instead of one. I have no regrets for leaving and simply can't imagine going back. I am living my dream. After retiring from thirty years of law enforcement, I now focus on writing full-time. When not writing, I'm either reading, crafting, or cooking/baking. Many of my books result from real-life experiences. For example, A Requiem for Revenge was created because of a recurrent nightmare I was plagued with for over a year after the death of someone very dear to me, and the difficult time I had adjusting to life without him. Ghost Girl is based on an accident I suffered as a teenager while playing softball. I did not, however, start seeing ghosts as a result like Dee Dee did, but I can tell you with certainty that I definitely saw stars and little blue birdies flying around my head! The Children in the Woods and A Killing of Sparrows are DeeDee Olsen books with the same (and some new) characters, though instead of a continuing saga, are different stories.
