Horatio McDowney is an author of several technical documents and an award winning enterprise system implementation specialist. He has also been a public speaker and Bible Teacher for over 20 years and has had dozens of experiences assisting those with drug and other addictions, including himself. Studying the Bible with several drug dealers, the criminally insane all the way to the schizophrenic has given him a unique perspective on the language of the 'addicted heart'. His poetry attacks the feelings that are at work in the addict and the worksheets steer their thinking toward compassion for others and then for themselves. This is not a product of the medical community. While encouraging the reader to avail themselves of whatever emotional, medical and spiritual assistance they need professionally (not endorsing any particular avenue), he also encourages them to think through why they need it and develop the determination to stick to positive thinking when at their worst and to their personal development programs.
