Trina Leshay Williams "Poetrina" is a published poet, Certified Poetic Medicine Practitioner and Spiritual Midwife/Chaplain who uses poetry to heal and transform. Trina invites a dynamic engagement with Scripture as a path to create wholeness and healing within individuals and communities. She believes that the spoken word brings to life the essence of who we truly are - who we were created to be. Trina holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Professional Leadership and Education and ACPE Certified Educator credentials. Trina states, “As I re-read these poems in preparation for the birth of his work (Poetry as Radical Subversion), I was struck by notes of defiance, strokes of genius and moments of revelation that permeate my words. Until today, I could see none of these things. At the time of my living in my skin, I was simply trying to survive. Simply trying my best to take hold of the call of G-d on my life. At the time, I told myself I was to assimilate into the culture because I was a by-product of racism and sexism. Today, I can audaciously and bodaciously claim my work as Radically Subversive!
