J. Alan sexton was born in Coral Springs, Florida to Glenn and Doreen Sexton. Throughout his life his inspiration has always been his two older sisters Leslie and Shannon. Sexton's love for writing was discovered at the young age of 15 by his Honors English Teacher Ms. Jeannie Roberson Alston. Sexton claims "without her there is no way I ever would have written anything. She helped me discover my passion for stories, poems, and non-fiction prose." Sexton currently serves in the U.S Army.
