JD Shaw grew up amongst the suburban conundrums of Canberra (Australia) in the 1970’s – Art, teen angst, punk music and a far too tidy, planned city left a lifelong appetite for … anything else. Leaving school at seventeen he worked in a variety of jobs including as a registry clerk, laboring and building, printing, stone masonry, Union organiser, and as a courier and removalist. He completed an environmental science degree in 1994 and worked as national park ranger for many years. Now living on Yuin Country in Far South Coast New South Wales, JD Shaw has previously published an award winning ecological children's book 'Iso & the Bushfire' and two collections of Short texts and poetry 'Spit It Out!' and 'No Easy Bleed'. JD Shaw's catelogue also includes the spe4culative fiction novels 'In Arcadia' and 'Thirst and he is currently working on his third novel, a vision of a positive future, 'Quarantine'. His writing has also been published in Wet Ink Magazine and the anthology 'Everyday Splendour' as well as other poetry anthologies.
