Jessica Meats has invented stories for as long as she can remember, folding sheets of paper into little "books" for her writing from her early years. She attempted a novel at the age of 11 but her first success was a short story published in a magazine at the age of 17. This love of writing never went away, with her becoming a committee member for a university creative arts magazine and an active member of a creative writing group. Her first novel, Child of the Hive, was published in 2009. A technical manual followed two years later. Jessica works for Microsoft as a technology specialist and this love of technology inspires her writing.
