Born in Texas and raised in New Mexico. I garnered a love of history from my grandmother, and a love of literature from my mother who read to me religiously when I was a kid. It took me awhile to come around but my dad Dan eventually ingrained in me a work ethic he acquired in the oil fields, the same as his dad and brother and a lot of my family did. I took that work ethic with me when I moved to New York and later Denver, and though I might do something different with my life I carry that with me every day. My brother and I share a belief that no matter what the year who wins the Stanley Cup is the most important event that will happen, so called world changing events coming in a close second.
