About
John Hinson
When baseball didn’t pan out, John decided he would take his passion for writing and making people laugh (or angry, depending on their outlook on life) as his primary focus. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2012 and 2014 with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English. His first book, Something About These Fields, is a travel memoir of his adventures in and around North Carolina. It was completed as part of his Master’s thesis and then published through Lulu. His second book, Hang the Elephant, follows his travels across the Deep South. It is in this book that John introduces his niche – waterfalls, wings, and weird history – a market he currently dominates because he’s the only one in it. While John’s larger works are travel memoirs, he also writes humorous blog articles about daily life, sometimes venturing into politics, sports, religion, and relationships. When he’s not writing his next book, he goes out to explore waterfalls in the mountains of North Carolina.
