Jo King grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota. During high school, two of her poems were published and she worked on the school newspaper. She then moved to Iowa for college and pursued a double major in public relations and graphic design. King is a co-editor of her college newspaper and enjoys drawing, listening to music, and playing with animals. She dreamed about publishing her first novel ever since she found her love of writing in elementary school.
