KAREN LIGHTOWLER
For the past 25+ years I have been researching the lives of the people who died in, and after, the Sheffield Flood when, on the night of 11th / 12th March 1864, the embankment of the Dale Dyke Dam collapsed. Officially 240 people were drowned but I have since proved many others died in the aftermath as a direct result of the flood. To date I believe 311 people lost their lives although this number had changed many times as research progresses. Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like details of any family or to find out if any of your ancestors were involved. Thank you. Karen
