Karen has been writing since she was a little girl, being brought up by parents who both worked as journalists. She was born in Lincoln, England in 1969 and has recently moved back there. She has five children and three grandchildren. Her first self-published book was a poetry collection which came out in 2003. In 2013, she published THOUGHTS OF A NEW OLD MUM - about her experiences as both a young mum and an older mum. In 2015, her biography of the actor Anthony Ainley was published by Fantom Films - The Man Behind the Master. Her 1980s gymnastics book (1980-84) came out in June 2016 and the sequel (1985-89) in July 2018. She is currently working on a series of books called Gymnasts in Conversation. Each one features exclusive interviews from gymnasts across the decades who have competed for their country. She also produces CLASSIC GYMNASTICS magazine. In 2022, she published her first novel - Welcome to Whitlock Close - followed by her second novel Starting Again in Silver Sands Bay and her third novel - Over the Garden Fence - in 2023. She is currently working on her fourth novel and more books in the Gymnasts in Conversation series, including rhythmic gymnastics.
