I have always enjoyed the Crime & Mystery genre, and in particular the literature of Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Colin Dexter, Martha Grimes, Reginald Hill, Elizabeth George and Ellis Peters. My own Christian fiction books come from a natural mix of Christian faith, experience, prayerful inspiration and literary influences. I once told my son, "When I find an author whose works I like I will read almost everything the author has written…at least what I can get my hands on." I find in this way I get a good sense of the author through his/her works. When I write, however, I do not read other peoples material. I need to keep my focus and am not able to multitask the way I used to. It takes me about a year to complete a novel. I retired from a career in healthcare and put down roots in Northern and Southern CA and Ashland, OR. I've been a Christian for many years, a pianist, composer and now an author. I spend my time visiting with family and friends and in church and community work
