Krandall is the author of eight books, six of which were published by a New York publisher, two of which he has published here on Lulu, like many of his author friends. He is the recipient of the Raymond Carver International Short Fiction Prize, the Borestone Poetry Award, and in 2005, the Christopher Isherwood Prize in Fiction for his life's work in fiction, especially, Perfect As It Is, a book now available here on Lulu. He has worked for The White House, The Library of Congress, and on Capitol Hill. He now lives in a verdant valley north of San Francisco with his family, including his Doberman Pinscher, Rama. He is working on other things, but says that "For now, I am no longer interested in the publishing rat race. It just inflates one's ego and that is always asking for trouble. I spend my days in the garden with my partner and my dog, doing japam, reading, writing in my journal and writing letters to a lifetime of wonderful friends. I want to keep it that way."
