Dividing my time between London and Kent, life is pretty busy (and colourful!) as both a mum and full-time arts student. After gaining a Foundation Diploma, I am currently studying for a degree in Book Art & Design. I love books to both read and appreciate as conceptual art forms (books as works of art). My degree is exposing me as an artist to explore both book structure and content. My passion is photography and fine art and I take inspiration from Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sophie Calle and Annette Messager. Other sources of inspiration include my teenage daughter Laura, our tabby cat Alfie and my love of tea! In fact, I incorporate tea into my art whenever possible..including 'Subway Voices' where there is a literary reference! Subway Voices is my first self-published book. Taking TS Eliot's theme of the Urban Desert and by day living in London's subways, I logged snippets of real conversations which gives the book a voyeuristic slant. I hope you like it.
