Madhu Devi
Madhu Devi is the founder, author, and art director of Devi Sri Books. Growing up in an artistic family, Madhu understands the important connection between imagination and creativity. Madhu’s inspiration and creative nature is thanks to her upbringing. Madhu obtained a degree in education from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada. She continued her passion for teaching enrolling at Antioch University, New England where she received her post-graduate, Waldorf certification. She is now a licensed Waldorf teacher in both Canada and Thailand. Born in Canada with Southeast Asian roots, Madhu currently resides in Thailand after traveling and living across Asia, where she embraces her passion for cultural storytelling. Her connection to home is exemplified through her passions and interests. Madhu has been practicing Bhakti yoga for over 18 years, helping her to understand the holistic and spiritual importance of creativity and meditation. When she is not teaching, Madhu can usually be found on a small getaway in the mountains or beaches of Thailand, catching the sunrise or sunset over the boundless mountains of her motherland. Madhu’s relationship with her heritage is reflected in her professional world. This deep connection can be found in her book illustrations which are inspired by a Waldorf watercolor style that illuminates the beauty of Asia.
