J.P. Young
CITY NATIVE PENS MEMOIR ABOUT HOMETOWN By MATT PERA, The Waukegan Journal Sunday, August 13, 2006 WAUKEGAN - James Peter Young has had his share of adventures since graduating from Waukegan High School in 1973. He has worked as a private investigator, traveled to more than 45 countries, served in both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, and ultimately settled in Sydney, Australia. It seems appropriate that, after his many journeys, he now works as a state intelligence officer for the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs. "I used to go chasing around the world, now the world comes to me," But, oddly enough, after spending his childhood watching movies and reading books that inspired him to leave his hometown, Young said no matter where he traveled over the years, he found himself thinking about Waukegan.
