About
Michael E. Lloyd

Michael E. Lloyd holds an MA degree in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. He was an international IT Consultant for thirty years before leaving that world to pursue his other interests, particularly fiction writing. He has since published five full-length novels and several short stories. Still a keen student of European languages and literature, he is a specialist in the works of Carlos Ruiz Zafón. He is a musician, musicologist, choral singer and composer, and an acknowledged authority on the work of the American writer, singer and musician Janis Ian. He is an emeritus editor and indexer for a major online literary magazine. As a genealogist he has researched and published a huge multi-volume Family History. His other hobbies include flying (but he has now finally hung up his headset!), fishing, pond keeping, drawing, chess, bridge, web site design and development, electronics, chemistry, microscopy and cooking. In 2025 he produced the “English to Read” collection of reader books, for beginner and intermediate level students of English, in seven different language versions. He is married with two daughters and three granddaughters, and lives near Cambridge, England. He has a “rather outdated” website at www.melloyd.com that you may find interesting. The “English to Read” collection and his five published novels are all presented below. The website shown here provides separate access to his published short stories (available as PDFs).
