Michael Mangold is a doctor, educator, and father. He graduated from Chicago Medical School in 1990, and embarked on a 20+ year career in medicine including 16 years as an ER Physician, 4 years as a Family Physician, and 7 months on a medical mission to Nicaragua. Dr. Mangold went to Nicaragua to teach med students in Bilwi. His plans changed though when the school could not obtain funding. His mission was cut short over the Thanksgiving weekend that year when he was mugged 5 times trying to find his son Ben who was abducted by the American embassy.
