Mick Rooney is an author, researcher and freelance journalist. He has been writing for nearly thirty years and has published nine books and also written numerous articles for magazines and online media. He published his first book, Arcadia, in 1990, and since then, he has experimented in both form and content. He has read his work in public regularly, often using contemporary music and images to enrich the performance of the work and his style has been compared to writers like Beckett, Perec, Orwell, Coelho and Mirbeau, without ever being fully defined. He also works as a publishing consultant for authors and publishers, having written extensively on the publishing and retail industries over many years. He is also a regular blogger, guest and visitor to many leading writers’ forums. He was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1968, and now lives in the Netherlands.
