Contemporary composer Colin Decio is a graduate in piano and composition of the Birmingham School of Music (now Conservatoire). "I have been composing steadily since 1986 and this series of piano books represents the culmination of nearly thirty years work. I have always been keen on piano music being pianistic and enjoyable to play, not awkward like some pieces can be. And I feel this I have achieved throughout my piano works. The song-cycles mostly set the words of Dymock poet John Drinkwater whose poems simply turn into music, so composing the music was an easy task."
