Miriam Dufer was born and raised in Alabama, where she graduated from Gordo High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing in 1998. She graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2005 with a Master of Arts degree in Humanities with a concentration in Literature. In 2017, she will graduate from National University with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing. She is also pursuing a PhD in English at Old Dominion University. She currently lives in Alabama and is working on her first novel.
