Michael L. Frankel is the author of several sailing memoirs including Endless Summer, Dreaming of Columbus, Cruising the Gulags, and Gently with the Tides. He is a former editor of Living Aboard magazine and a former member of the Center for Marine Conservation (now the Ocean Conservancy). He lives aboard his Chinese junk-rigged schooner Sabra.
