Munowar Harneker completed his hifz under the tutelage of Shaykh Ismail Berdien. He has a degree in Islamic Studies from IPSA and a degree in Education from CPUT. He has received sanad and ijāzah in the Seven Qirā’āt from Shaykh Abdullah Petersen, in the Minor Ten Qirā’āt from Shaykh Abdullah ibn Salih al-Ubayd and in the Major Ten Qirā’āt as well as Four Shādh Qirā'āt from Qari’ Saleem Gaibie.
