Nikolaî 'Nick' Steffanov is a Bulgarian American author who gained recognition almost immediately after publishing his first novel 'Background Trip to Chicago: Analysis of an Emerging Immigrant Community' in 2011. His unique approach of depicting harsh reality would captivate readers and leave them breathless until the last page. Coarse language and skillfully designed narrative are amalgamated in a homogeneous literary masterpiece that tells the story of many Bulgarian immigrants in the United States through their interaction on many levels. A sequel, 'Background Trip 2 Chicago', followed in the spring of 2013. Also, a movie based on the original book premiered in Chicago on May 10, 2013. Meanwhile, Steffanov wrote a short novel called 'Kapsızin' which was published in 2012. His latest works 'Emigration Misunderstood' and 'Poet's Confessions' were published in 2015 and 2016 respectively. At this time, none of Steffanov's works are available in English.
