My journey through history takes me through The Depression and World War II highlighting my mother's testimony of what life was like for her; Philadelphia in post-war era in Let Me Tell You what Mama Said. The humorous and witty expressions from my ancestry was the begining of my exploration into poetry and verse captured in Mood Swings and Midnight Alley. Whispers from the past helped me to articulate seasons of rage, humor, reflection and observations of our culture. Caring for not one, but two elderly parents who met their demise seven months apart inspired me to express my pain and transcendence on paper as a source of encouragement and understanding for everyone who has or one day will have to care for a loved one. The convergence of love, wisdom, spiritual growth and the desire to touch and edify the human heart are the essence of my work
