Patrick Meade has been writing poetry since the early 2000s, but the spirit of his poetry simmered inside since childhood. He left Newfoundland in the early 70s to live in Ontario. Over the years he worked a number of jobs. He enjoyed the people he met along the way, but he always felt the call of the pen. Patrick says that we are byproducts of nature; nature is speaking, and we seem to have turned her volume down. He adds that in a number of his poems, nature is the voice, is the pain—so he just tries to write from her perspective.
