Douglas B. Saylor

Douglas Saylor is a free lance writer who lives in San Diego. Saylor's doctorate is in French literature, and his first book was written on that subject. Since then, he has written numerous articles, primarily on the history of social justice movements. His topics are diverse, from treatment of the Roma (Gypsies) in the American Southwest, to the role of the Presbyterian Church in the Indian schools in New Mexico. Currently, two of his books are non-fiction. "Fighting For the Cause, Writing For the Cause," is a collection of diaries and letters of his abolitionist ancestors. Douglas Saylor has taught community college, and volunteers with political refugees brought to southern California. You can read his blog at
