About
Thomas Maher
Thomas Maher is a Neuro Holistic Therapist and long-time musician who specialises in mental health support for performers and creatives. Originally from Ireland and now based in the UK, he first experienced depression and anxiety in childhood and later found stability through a combination of music and therapeutic work. In 1995, with no formal musical training, he bought a drum kit and began gigging in covers bands, eventually forming the original classic rock band Emerald and the independent label and production company Phantom Records. Drawing on decades of live performance, studio work and artist management, Thomas works at the intersection of music and mental health, helping musicians navigate anxiety, burnout, identity and life beyond the stage. He is the founder of Musicians Against Depression (MAD), a platform dedicated to awareness and practical support, and continues to develop resources, workshops and podcasts that make emotional wellbeing a normal, accessible part of life in music.
