For two decades, while running the roads of America in the child care photography business, these characters kept me company. They helped to ease the boredom of traveling alone across thousands of miles of interstate highway or sitting for hours in the lobbies of far flung airports. As the white lines rolled under my wheels, the adventures of a host of fictional characters unfolded in my mind. Now that the cameras have been put away, I have time to sweep these folks from the corners of my mind and put them between the covers of books where they can share their adventures with any who care to join in their fictional journeys. These books are not confined to any one particular genre and so I feel that there will be something amongst them that will appeal to any reader, no matter what his or her taste in literature. I invite you to discover these sometimes wonderful, sometimes weird folks who were developed during my trips across America. Rick Fontes
