About
Olga Okhotnikova
Hello! My name is Olga Okhotnikova. I am the author of the learning and teaching support kit consisting of a student’s book, activity book, tests and flashcards for teaching Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) to kids "Sputnik-1". You can find latest updates here — rki-kids.ru I have been a certified teacher of Russian as a foreign language since 2013 (diploma for graduates with honours from Lomonosov Moscow State University in the professional retraining program "Theory and Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language"). I advocate for communicative and functional principles in teaching. I teach children to speak the language, rather than simply to perform exercises in a workbook. Here are some facts about me. I have more than 14 years of work experience as a teacher — state universities, private lessons and Moscow Korean School (the only school approved as a Korean international school by the South Korean government in Europe). I have developed educational programs for Russian as a foreign language. I have taught more than 500 children. My books "Sputnik-1" and "Sputnik-2" embodies more than 10 years of experience working with children who are learning Russian as a foreign language in schools and online. The path from the idea of writing the book to its realization took 7 years. 400+ children participated in the testing of the textbook. It’s the result of extensive work with educational materials, illustrations and audio. Hope you enjoy it!
