Robert Perkins is an amateur historian who has extensively studied various periods of history, particularly Dark Age Europe, the ancient near east, the 18th century and Napoleonic Wars, and most especially the American Civil War. His articles on various aspects of military history have been published either online or in specialist magazines. Robert has also had an interest in alternate history which goes back to his childhood, when he first read MacKinley Kantor's book, IF THE SOUTH HAD WON THE CIVIL WAR. Since 2003 he has been writing alternate history, and his alternate history works have won wide acclaim for their quality on internet alternate history forums such as AlternateHistory.com and Counter-Factual.net.
