Rob Hoos is a coffee roasting consultant, educator, and author with over 16 years of roasting experience and 12 years of consulting expertise. As the founder of Hoos.Coffee, Iteration.Coffee, and FernHill.Coffee he specializes in helping roasters refine their craft through experimentation and data-driven insights. Rob is best known for his influential book Modulating the Flavor Profile of Coffee: One Roaster’s Manifesto and his latest work, Cultivar: A Practical Guide for Coffee Roasters, which explores how different cultivars impact coffee flavor and roasting dynamics. Beyond consulting, Rob has developed online courses, mentorship programs, and a thriving coffee education community. His work is deeply rooted in continuous learning and exploration, bridging the gap between science and craft in specialty coffee. When he’s not roasting or teaching, he’s at home in Rainier, Oregon, with his family, always finding new ways to push the boundaries of coffee roasting.
