Shar Vegas Moore, also known as “Vegas”, or artist RockstarVegas was born on July 8, 1989 in Columbia, South Carolina. Her mother, Jennifer Moore, was born in Long Island, New York and was raised in Detroit Michigan by adoptive parents. Though Vegas’ parents were separated, both parents were prevalent in her childhood. Vegas grew up in a single parent home, with her mother as her primary parent. Being the only child for 17 years, her close cousins were referred to as siblings. From elementary school throughout high school, the author found comfort in writing and emotional expression through literature and music. Each day she wrote music and poetry. As an introvert, being closed off grew her deeper need for expression and therefore a more intimate style of writing. The author, like others, also wrote literary content such as poetry and short stories. With major literary influences such as W.E.B. Dubois, Richard Wright, and Langston Hughes, the author began to professionally write. January 2015 “The Conscious Collection”, was published by Shar Vegas Moore and Lulu Publishing; her first non-fiction book. The book was released on Barnes and Nobles, Amazon, Lulu Publishing, and all national and international book platforms. The young author began to cross milestones when her book became recognized and displayed in public libraries in the United States. Not long after, the author began to host book signings and public speaking events around the world.
