In addition to being the author of "A Question of Theories, George has also been known for his volunteer work in emergency information relay and collation on Twitter. In February 2009 he was active helping with Twitter information during Victoria's Black Saturday bushfires. In the first months of 2011 he again did this for the Queensland Floods, Victorian floods and other situations. George was especially mentioned in to studies relating to social media in emergencies, like “Priceless Tweets” (2010), one to do with the Queensland floods of 2011 and another to do with the Victorian floods (also 2011). The presentation for one study cited George as one of the top Twitter accounts providing information and retweets during the early 2011 Victorian floods. In the 1980s George was an Australian comic writer/artist for REVERIE! Comics, then was initial writer for the Reverie Torn series in the modern era. Now he does his own characters under the Sidestep Comics imprint. Originally from country Victoria, George now lives in Melbourne.
