About
Stano Grezdo
From 2007 to 2017 Stano (Stanislav) Grezdo was curator of Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art (UIMA) in Chicago, where he curated or co-curated over 60 exhibitions. He also cooperated on exhibitions with other institutions such as The Ukrainian Museum in New York; Ukrainian Institute of America in New York; The Bauhaus Chicago Foundation, The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture in Chicago, and others. Stano is currently co-owner and Director of One After 909 gallery in Chicago. One After 909 started in 2018 as a commercial contemporary art gallery in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. The gallery focused on emerging and established Chicago artists. After the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020 and the closure of its physical space, the gallery has refocused on project-based exhibitions in diverse locations, with plans to explore internationally. One after 909 promotes artists with varied creative outputs, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and multimedia works; with shared common threads of narrative content, social awareness, high-level craftsmanship, and a predilection for the unconventional.
