Susana Frade is a Cuban classical guitarist and educator with over twenty years of experience as a performer and teacher. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Guitar Performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Throughout her career, she has appeared at international festivals, given lectures and masterclasses, and performed a wide range of repertoire from Latin American, Baroque, and contemporary traditions. Susana is the founder of Susana Frade Studio, where she teaches classical guitar to students of all ages and develops pedagogical resources that support technical development, musical expression, and healthy practice habits. Her teaching is shaped by her training in the U.S. and Cuba, bringing together diverse approaches to technique, interpretation, and musicianship. My Musical Journey grew out of her work with students and her commitment to providing structured, practical tools for effective practice. Drawing from her experience in higher education, performance, and music pedagogy, she created this journal to help musicians organize their goals, track their progress, and cultivate a consistent and thoughtful practice routine.
